You may have heard of swine influenza in the news and I wondered what the disease really was, and if you or your family members are endangered and what can be done about it.
The swine flu epidemic is caused by the spread of new H1N1 strain of influenza virus, which was first detected last March. It has been detected in three regions of Mexico, but it took one month for it to be clinically identified. Then, strains of the virus have been found in different cities of Mexico, the United States. And other countries in the Northern Hemisphere. > When the new strain of swine flu makes its way to Canada, United Kingdom, Spain, Israel, New Zealand, the World Health Organization has decided to raise its pandemic alert level 4. This means that the virus has sustained transmission from human to human.
